Quenton Todd Hatter was born in Dumas, Texas. He was raised in a family of 7. He was the youngest child born to Dan H. Hatter and Vivian D. Hatter, who owned multiple businesses, including a welding shop, a crop spraying business, and a farming operation growing crops of maize, corn, alfalfa, and wheat. Todd's father, Dan, also raised registered Hereford cattle and quarter horses. Dan served as Moore County Commissioner of Precinct 1 in Dumas, Texas, for over 20 years.
Todd worked in the family businesses from the time he was six years old and grew up understanding the value of hard work. He graduated from Dumas Senior High School and began working other jobs in addition to continuing to help in the family businesses. He served as a police officer for over six years and began that career by attending the Amarillo Police Academy where he received his initial law enforcement training and obtained his Basic Peace Officer Certification.
Todd attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. He later taught computer classes and spent time as a computer programmer. Todd acquired numerous technology certifications, including a Microsoft MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate), and Lucent LCTE (Lucent Certified Technical Expert) in ATM, Frame relay, and inter-networking.
Todd's calling to attend law school resulted in him attending Oklahoma City University School of Law and obtaining his Juris Doctorate Degree and becoming licensed to practice law in Oklahoma in 2007. Todd later became licensed to practice law in Texas in 2008. Todd loves the law and enjoys being able to positively affect people and their lives through his knowledge and skills working with the law.

Todd is skilled as a farmer, rancher, crop dusting, welder, mechanic, carpenter, computer technician, and lawyer. He built his own home in Amarillo, including drawing the plans, pouring the concrete, framing the home, wiring, plumbing, laying bricks, and completing the interior - beginning construction in 1999 when he decided to make Randall County his permanent home.
Through his education and employment opportunities, Todd has travelled the world and experienced many different cultures, visiting more than 30 countries. He believes in missions work, has gone door to door delivering meals in north Amarillo, and shared the love of Christ as far away as Cape Town South Africa. He even broke a Guinness Book World Record on a video game called "Defender".
Prior to law, Todd worked with computer networking and provided IT assistance to over 120 banks in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. He supported Windows and Unix based systems and held certifications including Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, and Lucent LCTE in ATM, Frame relay, and inter-networking.
Todd served as a supervisor for a Ground Water Conservation District, where he taught water conservation programs in public schools, monitored water levels of the Ogalala Aquifer, and assisted area farmers with determining the efficiency and flow rates of their water wells and sprinkler systems.
Todd has travelled to South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Australia, South Island New Zealand, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Russia, Austria, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, China, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, and Montenegro.
Todd built his own home in Amarillo from the ground up. Prior to construction, he lived in a small single-wide trailer house while saving for his dream home. He broke ground in 1999 and completed all work himself - drawing plans, pouring concrete, framing, electrical, plumbing, septic, brickwork, and interior finishing.
Having served as a police officer for over six years, Todd understands the difficult and dangerous tasks that law enforcement officers perform trying to protect and serve our community. He believes in adequately funding local law enforcement to provide necessary tools and training.
Todd has practiced law across Texas spanning from Dalhart and Stratford to the North, Sherman to the East, El Paso to the West, and Temple to the South. He has been a successful solo practitioner for the past 15 years, handling criminal law, family law, CPS, civil litigation, wills, and juvenile cases.
